Traits For Every Employee

Potential employees need to develop and demonstrate the desirable professional characteristics of ambition and intelligence.  Most employers look for employees who demonstrate ambition by taking action and chances that help themselves and help the company (Sundheim, 2013).   Being ambitious is great, but a good employee must also demonstrate intelligence.  Intelligence, in the workplace, is the ability to plan, set priorities, solve problems, and get the job done independently (Giang, 2012).
First, employees need to demonstrate and develop ambition.  An ambitious employee is courageous and willing to take risks.  Risks may end in failure, but more often than not, a risk leads to success and builds confidence in the employee (Giang, 2012).  Once an employee gains confidence, the employee is more productive.  Productive employees bring in money and drive innovation within a company (Sundheim, 2013).
Second, employees need to demonstrate and develop intelligence.  Intelligence is a strong building block for success (Sundheim, 2013).  Intelligent employees show that they are competent by setting priorities, planning, organizing, solving daily challenges, and keeping their minds centered on the task they have been assigned (Giang, 2012).  Having intelligent employees reduces the amount of time spent on proofing work and micromanaging, which reduces stress levels in the workplace (Sundheim, 2013).
An ambitious and intelligent employee is a productive action-oriented employee who brings innovation and profitability into a company and reduces stress levels in the workplace.  Employees should strive to develop these two desirable characteristics.
